After many weeks, I decided (by default and budget) to strip down my now 20 year old utility/box trailer as the base for my tiny home. Originally, I wanted to purchase a new box trailer, and then modify it. But, in retrospect, I have learned that that just would not have worked well.
The wood was old, the screws, bolts, and nails used to assemble the “old box” were now well rusted, making the disassembly difficult. However, a couple days later and the components were coming off.
And, after a week, I was down to the original trailer frame assembled from the kit purchased from Harbor Freight. This frame measures 4 feet wide by 8 feet long, the wheels rest outside the frame dimensions.
